I got really riled up just now. My dad was just going on and on and on and I'm thinking "omfgwtfplsshutupthanks" after trying (and failing cos my dad ALWAYS has the last word, not unlike me, the genes k) to talk back which is rude and making reasonable suggestions which he didnt even hear I bet you.
I'm telling you these days, I think it really truly is the first time I realise what pressure from the folks is.
So yeah, in the end I decided that shutting up is for the best. Mind you the father just got encouraged cos he probably thought he was right and was making his point clear (which he wasnt. at all.) so he rattled on.
I was on the brink of losing it.
And then the amazing happened. A nice song came on, and my dad is just one who CANNOT not sing a song he fancies, so he stopped the bullshit and sang along with the radio.
Even more amazingly, the both of us just dropped it altogether. He stopped talking crap and I stopped thinking crap. From the song we progressed on to talking about other things. Two things the both of us can talk about without going at each other's throats - songs&cars.
If anything, I'd say my family's all about the drama. We keep things passionate, I guess. Which is better than nothing, yea?
It was interesting to say the least. Saved by George Michael and that Merc with the hazard light on the side mirror too.
